01

The starting point

One person, several businesses, and a name people often misspell. Search engines needed one clear page that says who he is and points to everything else, without mixing a résumé, a wedding business, and a design studio into one confusing site.

02

What we did

  • Gave the site one job: say who Mike is and link out to each business on its own address.
  • Connected the family of sites with shared Person structured data, so search engines understand they describe the same people.
  • Kept the same above-the-fold layout on every page, so moving between pages never shifts the screen.
  • Built a press page with bios in three lengths, headshots, and copy buttons for anyone writing about him.
  • Designed sections to hide themselves when they are empty, so the site never shows filler.
